BMW 335i - Full Detail

Sat morning in Cape Town was a rather gloomy cold picture. I was a little concerned that our booking was going to be ruined by the rain we had over the last 3 days. However there was hope as the forecast said it would clear later in the day.

The car arrived and we go straight into the deep cleaning and preparation for Polishing. The rain cam down quite persistently during the washing and Steve and  myself looked like 2 drowned rats by the end. And as Murphy would have it the rain stopped as we pulled the car into the unit.

We clayed the car from top to bottom to remove all bonded contaminants leaving the paintwork nice and smooth.
Here are a few pics of the paintwork close up showing the swirls and marring.

We gave the Engine a good clean and applied the AutoGlym Engine dressing.

Next Steve got to work on the headlights. We flatted them down using Meguiars UniGrit water paper.... 1st 1500 then 2000 grit then finished off with 3000. Then Steve used the Rotary Polisher with 4inch pads and Meguiars Clear Plastic Cleaner to buff out the flatting marks. Lastly Steve buffed using the Meguiars Clear Plastic Polish to give the best possible clarity to the headlights.

While Steve was busy on the headlights I got started on the 1st stage of Polishing. I used the Rotary plus Menzerna SIP Polish on the Lake Country CSS Pad. We then moved onto the 2nd Stage using Meguiars M205 for added gloss and finish. 3rd stage we applied the Werkstat Acrylic Prep Sealant. Lastly we applied by hand the AutoGlym Lifeshine Paint protection. Here are the pics of the final result.

BMW Z4 Full Detail

This Lovely Black Z4 was dropped off at our Unit yesterday for a Full Detail.
Steve got stuck into the Washing and prepping for polishing. He also attended to the Interior and gave everything a really good clean and also applied the awsome AutoGlym Leather Balm to the Interior Leather.
Some pics of the Rims which Steve tackled with AutoGlyms Wheel Cleaner.

I went into the unit at 7pm last night and started on the 3 Stage Polishing.
Here are some Before pics

Lots of Swirls but most noticeable was the Buffer Rash or Severe HoloGrams. This is caused due to incorrect buffing with a Rotary Machine and wool mop on cured paint. But not something we cant sort out.
onto some attempted 50/50 shots. I def need to get myself a TriPod for these kinds of shots. I dont have a steady enough hand with the camera. I used the Menzerna Super Intensive Polish for the Correction Stage.

Here a few before and after shots on the Bonnet

Sealant Applied and Curing

2am rolled around and I started feeling rather exhausted. But took a few snaps before heading home.
His Stigness reflected in the Bonnet

So this morning I arrived back nice and early at the Unit... Applied the 2nd coat of Sealant. Buffed then took her out into the morning sun for the following Snaps.

Menzerna Final Finish was used to bring out the nice Dark Black Reflections and to highlight the paints finish. AutoGlyms LifeShine Paint protection was used to lock in the finish.
